The car sets one limit

A wallbox cannot make the onboard AC charger accept more power. Many European EVs accept 11 kW AC, while some are limited to single-phase power.

The building sets another

The grid connection, main breaker, cable route and other household loads constrain available current. Dynamic load balancing can help avoid exceeding the connection limit.

Faster is not always necessary

Overnight dwell time and daily energy use often matter more than maximum wallbox power. Calculate how much charge must be replaced before the next departure.
