WattCalc LAB

Sources and reference data

Independent and authoritative sources used to review WattCalc Lab assumptions.

Last reviewed: 8 September 2026

Solar generation

For location-specific solar-yield estimates, we recommend the European Commission Joint Research Centre PVGIS tool. Roof geometry, shading and equipment still need local assessment.

Electric vehicles

Battery capacity and AC charging limits should be checked against the vehicle manufacturer’s documentation for the exact model year and market. European charging context is cross-checked with the European Alternative Fuels Observatory.

Energy efficiency

Heating and household-energy explanations are reviewed against public guidance from the European Commission Directorate-General for Energy and equipment manufacturer documentation.

Electrical calculations

Power calculations use standard single-phase and balanced three-phase relationships. They intentionally do not recommend cable sizes or protective devices because safe design depends on installation conditions and national rules.

Update policy

Reference links and material assumptions are reviewed when a calculator changes. The review date appears on editorial and methodology pages.
